Labor and Farming
There’s no reason the richest 1% should continue to reap the benefits of your hard work while you struggle to pay bills. As a small business owner myself, I understand how hard it can be to make ends meet while running your business. I’ve seen the devastation of unbalanced policies in my own community.
Agenda
-
Fair wages for all workers, including increasing the minimum wage nationwide
-
Farmers need to be able to sell their crops. They desperately need economic support and help to repair their relationships with buyers that have been damaged by harsh, punitive tariffs.
-
Large corporate farms benefit the most from land consolidation, while small family farms suffer. I support limiting the amount of land that a single corporation can own and protecting the land owned by farmers in North Carolina from being sold to overseas developers
-
I understand that small businesses are the foundation of our communities and local economies. As a small business owner myself, I understand how hard it can be to make ends meet while running your business, which is why I support expanding access to affordable loans and grants so small businesses can grow, hire more workers, and keep our local economy strong
-
Tax credits and subsidies for small businesses that will allow them to pay their employees a living wage. Business owners who want to do right by their workers shouldn’t be punished by updated minimum wage laws that reflect the new cost of living
-
Help develop a fair trade policy that promotes job growth and incentivizes jobs to stay in North Carolina
